Good afternoon Ascent families,
This was an exciting week for our school! In addition to having a half-day today, we had our first ever school field trip. Mrs. Hutto's first grade class took a trip to the Museum of York County and had a great time together. Hands-on learning is a staple of the classical tradition, going all the way back to Aristotle's dissection of animals. We are excited that our students got this wonderful opportunity to participate in that tradition! March is a busy month for our school, so read on to see reminders of what's coming up.

Curriculum Day March 21
In order to help facilitate a love for learning and an excitement for the curriculum here at Ascent, each K-6 class will be having a Curriculum Celebration on March 21! Curriculum celebrations are anchored in a piece of literature or a historical event that are currently being studied in class. Please expect emails from your students' teachers with more information about their classroom celebrations. Please note that 7-8 grade will instead have a Spirit Day; see more details about this below.

Spirit Day March 28
We will have a school-wide Spirit Day on March 28! Our Spirit Day dress code will be the same as on Service Day. Students may wear either our Service Day shirt or our new spirit wear T-shirt. These shirts may be worn with blue denim jeans, which must meet the following criteria:
- no rips
- no holes
- no tears
If students choose not to wear approved Spirit Day attire, they must wear standard uniforms instead. We look forward to showing our school spirit!

Thank you to all of our parents who attended Coffee with the Headmaster! It's always a pleasure to see our families engaging with their students' education at these meetings.
